1. India’s Real GDP Growth — 7.8%

• India’s real GDP grew by 7.8% in Q1 FY 2026–27 (April–June 2026).
• The growth was higher than the RBI’s projection of 7%.
• Manufacturing recorded strong growth of 9.2%.
• The services sector grew by around 10%.
• The strong performance of manufacturing and services helped offset weaker agricultural output.
• The figures were released by the National Statistical Office (NSO).

2. PM Modi at SCO Summit

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
• He called for a united approach against cross-border terrorism.
• India stressed the need to avoid double standards in dealing with terrorism and terror financing.

3. Indus Waters Treaty Dispute

• India rejected the latest ruling concerning the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).
